Hi everyone, helo bawb!

It’s been a busy month for Transform Wales.

We were delighted to host our first event with TransformGov Talks, bringing people together in Cardiff and online to hear practical stories of public service transformation in Wales. A huge thank you again to everyone who spoke, joined us and contributed to such a lively conversation.

The conversation has also travelled beyond Wales. Transform Wales’ Ann Kempster and Dafydd Vaughan headed to Scotland for another TransformGov Talks session, where they presented ideas from our Transforming public services for a modern Wales report and joined discussions about the future of public services.

It’s been great to connect with people across the devolved nations, compare what we’re learning and explore the challenges and opportunities we share. There’s a lot we can learn from each other – and we hope these conversations are just the start.

From learning to doing – our Visitor Levy user research journey so far

Exploring how to improve test result designs in the NHS Wales App
Transform Wales’ Nia Campbell explains how the NHS Wales App team is redesigning test results to help patients understand what their results mean and what happens next. A year of service design in NHS Wales
In a two-part series, Lead Service Designer Eri Hirose reflects on her first year working on complex NHS services. Part one explores GP services, including fragmented systems, digital exclusion and the risks of assuming digital is always the answer. Part two looks at school-aged vaccinations, and how research and service design can help reduce manual work, connect systems and create more inclusive end-to-end services.

Introducing the Office for AI: Who we are and what we’re here to do
Deputy Director of Welsh Government’s Office for AI, Mark Jones introduces their work to help public services adopt AI safely and effectively. The Office is focusing on practical guidance, skills and shared learning, taking a problem-led approach to where AI can deliver genuine value rather than adopting technology for its own sake.

Welsh Government partners with AI firm to advance Welsh-language AI
Nation.Cymru reports on a new partnership between the Welsh Government and AI company Cosine to improve how its Lumen AI model understands and processes Welsh.
